There is a lot to learn about coral reefs, their importance, human impacts on them and how we can help conserve them! This activity includes a guide for students to fill in as they watch a video (free link provided below).

The video teaches about Fort Jefferson and its construction, The Florida Coral Reef system, "rainforests of the sea," how corals form (polyps), coral bleaching, ocean acidification, human impacts (agricultural runoff, overfishing, pollution, and coastal development), how we can help coral reefs and more!

This video would work well in an AP Environmental Science class (APES), marine science, general science, conservation science class.

To use this product, students will watch this video about Coral Reefs in Dry Tortugas National Park. Then, students will answer the provided questions which follow along with the video.

There are also several provided discussion questions for the class after the video, if you want to further the discussion.
