Embark on a thrilling adventure with the Gates of the Arctic National Park: Survival Board Game! Designed for middle and high school students, this engaging board game immerses players in the rugged wilderness of Alaska, where teamwork, strategy, and survival knowledge are put to the test. Featuring role cards, essential food supply cards, and thought-provoking scenario questions, players must overcome realistic challenges and make critical decisions to survive. Perfect for classrooms, family game nights, or outdoor enthusiasts, this game makes learning about nature and survival both exciting and educational.

I don't know about you, but my students love adventure and dream of exploring the world. There is so much to see, especially in the National Parks! My students really enjoy this survival adventure game based on Gates of the Arctic National Park.

The students will work in teams to test their knowledge of their survival skills as they row their raft down the beautiful Noatak River in Gates of the Arctic National Park to their bush plane pick up point.

This game emphasizes teamwork and outdoor survival skills. The game was made to be played with 4 individuals or groups, but can also be modified to work with 2 or 3 (my teacher tips in the product explain how to modify it). Each individual or group will act as either a River Guide, Scout, Scientist or Camp Cook. They all have a different supply to take care of: water, food, shelter and fire; they can't run out of supplies or it's game over!

They will each answer multiple choice survival questions, which allows them to roll the die to move their raft piece further down the river.

Examples of these questions include:

Which is the most important food source in survival?

A-Fat

B-Protein

C-Sugar

Answer: A-with the high calorie burning in survival, high energy fats are the best.

You need dry wood to start a fire, where is NOT a good place to look?

A-Branches exposed to the wind

B-Branches under moss

C-Branches high up in a tree

Answer: B-moss grows in moist areas. Dry branches will snap clearly.
