Make a Scale Model of King Solomon's Temple from the Old Testament

For Middle and High School Students

$6.50$5.00

Build a miniature of King Solomon's Temple with our comprehensive Scale Model resource! Ideal for middle and high school students, this activity offers a hands-on educational experience. It features templates and vivid step-by-step instructions (using the Bible to guide them) to ensure an impressive and accurate replication. Unleash the architect within and dive into a historical masterpiece with ease and precision!

King Solomon's temple was built to replace the tabernacle as the new house that God would dwell in. The Bible is very specific on how it was built, including the dimensions, etc. (you can read about it in 1 Kings 6 and 2 Chronicles 3). Students can learn about this Old Testament structure by creating a scale model of it.

To do this activity, students will receive a packet (provided). They will read about the temple and will look up specific Biblical references that talk about the construction of the temple. They will answer questions and they will cut out the provided pieces, color them and tape them together.

By the end of the activity, students will make the temple building, the portico (porch), holy of holies, curtain, the two pillars (Boaz and Jachin), chains with pomegranates and the outer storage buildings that surround the temple.

This project is specific and detailed, which is why it is recommended that high school age or older do this activity. (Some high-level 8th graders could do this as well).
