For Middle and High School

$3.75$3.00

Discover the wonders of national parks with our engaging educational resource designed for middle and high school students. This comprehensive activity includes an in-depth research project and an immersive gallery walk, providing a hands-on learning experience that brings the natural beauty and scientific significance of national parks to life. Ideal for both classroom settings, homeschool and independent study, this interactive research activity strives to captivate students' imaginations and deepen their appreciation for the great outdoors.

There are so many things that students can learn in our national parks! With this activity, they will conduct their own internet research to answer the provided questions. Some of the questions include:

  • Describe a brief history about your park (how it was discovered, etc.).

  • List five kinds of animals that live in this park.

  • List five kinds of plants that grow in this park.

  • Describe the climate throughout the year in this park.

Then, they will create a poster about what they learned. There is a provided rubric that students can use to guide them as they create their poster. The rubric includes information they should include, pictures, neatness/color, etc.

Finally, when students finish their projects, they will be a part of a 'gallery walk.' Basically, the students will walk around the classroom and read their classmates' projects that are displayed and they will answer several questions about each park. The questions are provided in this product as well.

Basically, all you need to do is print off the packets for each student. Then, decide which student will be assigned which topic and gather materials for the posters (if needed). Then, the students will work through the packets.

This activity would work well as a sub plan, if needed.
