Introduce your students to the wonders of Olympic National Park with our Biomes Activity! Olympic National Park is one of the most diverse parks in the United States. You can find a variety of animals, plant life, land forms and ecosystems. In this activity, students will read about five of the major biomes in Olympic: Temperate Rainforest, Lowland Forest, Aquatic and Coastal Forest, Montane Forest and Alpine.
Then, they will read clues about 14 areas of the park and identify which biome they belong to. Then, they will color in those areas on a map of the park. Finally, they will answer five analysis questions about their maps and what they learned.

To do this activity, you will need:
Pencil
Copy of “Olympic National Park” packet for each student
Colored pencils (blue, red, yellow, green and orange)
Optional: projector and internet to showcase pictures of the biomes they read about
