The ABC's of the National Parks Coloring Sheets

This is a great resource in an elementary or early middle school classroom to teach young students about our National Parks and encourage them to want to visit someday! It also helps to teach vocabulary through the alphabet with words that are related to National Parks.

Each page lists the letter and a vocabulary word related to the National Parks that begins with that letter. For example: "A is for Arch." Then, it lists a short description of the vocabulary word along with a small activity (like, 'draw your own rock arch'). Finally, it ends with a coloring page of the National Park that the word is associated with.

This is a great cross-curricular activity as you learn science while learning reading and the alphabet.

I typically use this activity in a National Parks Unit with my 6th graders. My students really enjoy the creativity of coloring and creating their own National Park scenes.

Some of the words could be advanced for the younger grades, but they are explained on each page, so it would be helpful to talk through some together if they don't understand.
